Who We Are

Under the banner “Salem Is for Everyone!" we are engaging voters across the city and asking them to send a strong message that Salem is a welcoming and diverse community, respectful of the human rights of every city resident.

We are a broad coalition that has gained support from long-time Salem residents, recent arrivals, native-born and immigrant community members, and local leaders in city government, public safety, business, education, and healthcare. View our Supporters page for a list of city officials, community leaders, and local institutions who support the Sanctuary for Peace Ordinance and a "Yes" vote on Question 1.

The Vote Yes on 1! campaign is organized by the Friends of Salem Sanctuary, a municipal ballot question committee registered with the city of Salem. Our Executive Committee includes:

Tanya Stepasiuk, Chair
Rev. Jeffrey Barz-Snell, First Church in Salem, Treasurer
Mathew Chetnik
Grace Duran
Jeffrey Gross
Jill Mulholland
Fara Wolfson
